The education program covers three basic areas that help improve the Dominican Republic public educational system:

• Access: To guarantee the right to education we must secure its accessibility by ensuring that all children have equal access to it.

Infra-structure: Improvement and construction. Depending on the availability of schools, we strive to provide a safe and appropriate teaching environment.

Provision of materials: Teaching materials, supplies, sports and recreational facilities. The lack of new and traditional materials to support teaching is one of the most important weaknesses of public education in the Dominican Republic, especially in rural areas.

• Quality: It is not only important to attend school, but children are entitled to receive a quality education, consistent with the times and taking into account the student’s own reality, enabling the student to think and develop into a productive individual capable of improving his/her life and also their surroundings. Save the Children República Dominicana seeks to assure quality through:

Training: Training of teachers, parents, children and adolescents on Children's Rights and Quality Education. Workshops on the use of new technologies: computers and the internet.

Promoting skills development: Construction and upgrading of recreational/creative/meeting spaces aimed at developing skills.

• Protection: This falls into the aspect of informal education addressing the social well-being that profoundly affects the lives of children and their development. Save the Children República Dominicana seeks to positively:

- Cultivate good treatment towards children, in school and at home.
- Inclusive education: the eradication of the worst forms of child labor.
- Decrease of child labor and also promote education.
- Emergency preparedness program focused on Children.
